So Proud of My City!!!!
Detroit, Michigan (pow...you're dead)
I have many aliases, most will appear during the duration of this blog (about 2 weeks). I'm bad at telling people about myself, I kinda just like to be myself and let them form their own conclusion, so as far as you know, I'm just an average dude with a computer (aka a PEDO!). I LOVE cereal, all kinds, I'll probably post a lot of Cereal Reviews on here in an attempt to educate my fellow brothers and sisters about the aspect of my malnutritionification! (MESSAGE!). My album will be in stores soon (I'm black, so by default, i rap, don't judge me). I have an incredulous fetish for boobs, its almost scary, then again...who doesn't?, a lot of things irritate me, which is why I've decided to create this blog, please don't be offended, I am a very peaceful person, If you happen to read something you don't agree with, just let me know, I love talking things out (aka F*** YO OPINION SON!) lol j/k :)

Rant #2

Zamn, Why yo shoes be so old?!

Alright Alright, I was inspired to rant about this around 7am today (February 5th).  I saw my friend's status on Facebook and its something that always bothered me, I now have a place to rant about it, so, here I go!

People watch too much TV...there, I said it, lol.  There's nothing wrong with TV man, I can watch TV all day just as well as the next man, but when it gets to a point where, it starts to have an effect on how you view yourself and people around you, when you let how other people act dress and live their lives dictate what type of person you should be or how you and others should act, dress and live your life...then it becomes a problem.  I'm mainly referring to our sense of style and fashion.  We idolize "celebrities" and put them on this plateau that makes them non-human almost, most of us don't even know why.  Being a fan of someone and their music or their reality show or their YouTube channel is all fine and dandy man, but when you begin to bash your fellow, normie (us), just because they don't have the drive to change their style every 5 years just to keep up with your favorite rapper(s), that bothers me.  This is seriously one of the many problems in our country, this is why so many of us are afraid to be ourselves, because you have people who watch way too much TV who think its OK to talk about other people who cant keep up with the Jones'.  More than 60% of us are trying to live outside of our means because we are so worried about having the freshest pair of shoes (sneakers is the new word for it), obviously I'm referring to young America, the 18-30 age range (yeah, 30).  Just to put it out there, the individual's status that inspired me to write this, basically said something along the lines of, "why are dudes still getting braids?", my question is, When did braids go out the window? When dudes made it popular to have dreads?, Of course, that's the new craze, just 5 years ago females were looking for light skinned dudes with braids now its brown skinned dudes with dreads, "I dont know, they're just my weakness".  I know a lot of you are reading this and saying "not me!, I never liked dudes with braids, it be all about dat personality!", well guess what, you're a liar! lol, but seriously, What will it be tomorrow?  Does it ever end?   Will we ever stop letting the way other people live their lives dictate how we live ours and how we look at other people who are just trying to be themselves?  Probably not, it's the American way, we have always been like this, most likely, always will be.  I'm not totally knocking it, my worst problem with all of this, is the lack of balance.  There's almost no room for some people to be themselves, and we wonder why people "change" so much, it extends from childhood, everyone wants to make fun of the poor kid wearing yesterday's styles, even if you don't want to make fun of them, peer pressure, you give in and do it anyway just for the sake of fitting in with everyone else.  I'm no saint, I make fun of people all the time, I stick to "yo mama" jokes though, because I have no sense of style, Bugle Boy was my favorite clothing brand til about the 6th grade, I've never in my life owned a pair of Jordans, I still wear Southpole and any name brand that's not in style as long as I think it looks good on me and the price is right, I'm wearing it, and I had braids just last summer, I now have dreads..."how's that working out for you Marcus?" well, I'll tell you imaginary interviewer, females still don't find me attractive and apparently I'm just trying to fit in, AWESOME! lol.  This issue is more of a female thing, I suppose, because its certainly not the first time I've seen a female say something like that and sparked a rant.  Females are more into style and all the latest, than guys are, though there are some guys who are into that stuff too, I'm surely not one of them, I believe there are too many clones out here, we got like 3 generations all listening to the same music wearing the same clothes watching the same shows and acting the same way, but that's life, and all apart of growing up, and realizing a lot of things you did when you were younger was stupid, realizing you wasted money trying to keep up with everyone else.  Me personally, one of the things that bothers me, is I wish I would've found myself a lot sooner, like back in high school, not saying I was always trying to fit in, but I was lost for the most part.  Anywho, don't instant message me on yahoo and cuss me out because I made a rant about your status lol.  The floor is open for discussion, what's the latest style you're attracted toooo?

  1. I love my husband for not giving a flying shit about what's in style. He just does not care, if he likes it, he likes it. And people have always, ALWAYS given him shit for it. Friends and family included. However to say that it's mostly 'females' who are interested in style, uh, no. I think that's a gross miscalculation.
Men ARE concerned with style, and not just for the obvious reason of they are concerned because they want to be with a woman. It has been my observation, that they are concerned for prestige and status. They covet the 'freshest' and the 'newest' the same as their female counterparts.

As for people's obsession with celebrity and pop culture, I couldn't possibly agree with you more. I don't understand who put such a high premium on being typical (Almost Famous reference), but they did and the masses just went for it. In fact, they turned into a multi-billion dollar industry. Between the clothing, the gossip rags/websites, its just never ending.

I'll end my response before it seems never-ending. =)

  2. Lol I like such simple things that I don't even know if you can call it a style. A black wifebeater and some jeans that don't completely fall off the ass are wonderful to me, if the guy's attractive. I feel like the clothing shouldn't make the person... if he can be sexy or whatever in some sweatpants and a tshirt, I find that more attractive than anything else.
I want a guy who doesn't mind me having paint and charcoal on my hands and jeans all the time, who doesn't care if my sneakers are a little beat up, and who doesn't take longer than me to get ready to go out somewhere. As long as he can be well put together when the occasion requires, I don't really care.
On a sidenote though, I don't like guys who wear stuff that seems to be forcefully following a trend, like big ass pants with chains because you're 'goth', or flamboyantly strange scarves because you're 'trendy'. I don't mind a little personal touch here and there, but... just be normal, damn.

  3. thank you Myla, that Anonymous Avenger just thinks I'm a woman basher! I didn't mean ONLY women care about fashion and the latest trends etc., I meant y'all (not you two, women in general) care more, and I agree dudes only care for the most part because they want some of what you're sitting on, I wish some of you would realize the power in it and demand more from these niggas so they can stop looking like [insert latest hot rapper] stunt doubles
