The other day I purchased this
Edy's Limited Edition Samoa Girl Scout Cookies Ice Cream
not sure if anyone has had it or even know it exists, so, here's a short but sweet (no pun intended) review!
We all love Girl Scout cookies, I personally LOVE the Do-si-dos, Trefoils, and Samoas, so you can imagine how my face lit up when I came across Samoas (also Thin Mint and Tagalongs) ice cream in the freezer aisle of my local grocery store.
Some of you may see this brand
Dreyer's and Edy's are the same company
While unloading my groceries from their bags, I decided to take a small taste test. Ice cream always gets soft during that road trip home from the grocery store, and I always look forward to grabbing a fpoon (my favorite word) and getting the first scoop. Anyway. I was definitely impressed just from the small fpoonful I tasted, but after dinner, that just wasn't the case anymore. Later, after my dinner had digested, I decided to get a big fpoon this time, take the lid off the Samoas ice cream, leave it on the counter, sit down on the couch and enjoy my dessert. A couple bites into it, I was no longer impressed. WHERE DID ALL THE COOKIES GO?! They sure weren't in this carton of Edy's Limited Edition Samoas Girl Scout Cookies Ice Cream!! I continued to pick around for a few more minutes, searching for more chunks, but no luck, I eventually gave up, put the lid back on the ice cream and decided to wave the white flag on this battle.
Today, some time after eating my Tony's mini deep dish pizza, I decided to give this Samoa chunk search another try. I popped the lid off, left it on the counter next to the fridge, pulled out a chair from the kitchen table and sat down, determined to find more Samoa cookie chunks. SUCCESS!! It seems like after I found one big chunk, more started popping up, soon, the ice cream was filled with obvious holes from where i was digging lol.
Wrap Up
I give Edy's Limited Edition Samoa Girl Scout Cookies Ice Cream, 4 bowls! Overall it was a good purchase. The ice cream is good, very sweet since it not only contains chunks of Samoa cookies, but its also swirled with fudge. If you like for your cookie (or candy) specialty ice cream to contain more cookie chunks than what comes with it, obviously the best way to go is to buy plain vanilla ice cream and buy the cookies (or candy) separately and custom make it, most of these specialty ice creams are mass produced, they don't have time to make sure every carton is filled with 50 chucks, for you, GREEDY! But if you dig Samoas, you'll definitely be a fan of this ice cream and what it brings to the table. Try not to eat it all at once, I felt guilty just sitting at the table and eating a few fpoonfuls even though I was sharing it with my niece! lol, Enjoy
